One of the casualties of all that we’ve been through…well, one of the little-written about casualties is a sense of humor. So when you discover someone with one, they are a treasure and need to be treated as such. One such person is DAVID MOTT, whose sense of humor is wonderful. I hope the WVNS powers that be recognize it and find a way to use it in the promo efforts of the CBS affil in the Bluefield/Beckley market. They know about his creativeness since he has actually returned to the station where he at one time headed up the marketing. After a quick spin under the marvelous SHERRY CARPENTER (another sense of humor treasure with a 1,000 watt smile) at WJXT in Jacksonville, David must be happy to be ‘home’. He has a wonderful track record working for Prodco’s as well. Well Dunne! David.
More details to come, but it seems just about every station is running “get vaccinated’ spots and their news folks are all over it. Rather contradicts the NYT’s article about local news getting things wrong. Written by two journalists who have never worked in electronic media. Makes a difference.
Speaking of vaccinations, remember to check your PBS TV station for CHRIS SCHUELER’s documentary Vaccination from the Misinformation Virus. As usual, it’s top notch.
Job Alert – Love seaside living? Love the feel of a small town but the sophistication of a world-class city with dining and culture? Being seaside, do you love seafood? How about cost of living? And a great boss at a great station? It’s not a dream, it’s an actual job and if you’re one of the most creatives, then you need to get off the stick (or this landing page) and apply for the WVEC Brand and Creative Manager slot. Who would you work with? The terrific MICHEL PELLETIER.

Think About This: “Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” ~ John Lubbock
