Catching up with end of the year promotions. Or was it first of the year promotions? Doesn’t matter. Let’s focus on DC but with no politics involved in the least. Let’s choose WJLA. The ABC outlet in our capital. JOSH HEDGLIN has been named Creative Services Director, upped from Promotion Manager. Josh has been Promo Mgr at WBFF in Baltimore and in Johnstown, PA. No doubt his upward trajectory was helped by his attendance at the Promo Bootcamp run by now B&B owner SYDNEY RUBIN and I. He was a star. At any rate, WJLA is in great hands. And there’s no doubt that STAN MELTON would be proud. Note that is, indeed, the Commissioners Trophy he is holding in the picture; won by the Nats in 2019. Well Dunne! Josh.
Job Alert – Creative Services and Marketing Producer WABC NYC
One of the kindest, nicest people I ever worked with was DONNA MACHON who was the Executive Assistant at WCNC in Charlotte. She never got rattled, had a great sense of humor, loved and helped dogs with a passion, and was able to juggle a lovely boss who, sadly, was an ADHD poster child and needed a lot of extra attention. She passed away and she will be terribly missed.
Think About This: “When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart. For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost. When I’m feeling most ghost-like, it is your remembering me that helps remind me that I actually exist. When I’m feeling sad, it’s my consolation. When I’m feeling happy, it’s part of why I feel that way. If you forget me, one of the ways I remember who I am will be gone. If you forget, part of who I am will be gone. “ ~ Frederick Buechner
