Very rare moment happening. There are currently (as of Friday afternoon) not one but two CSD (or whatever title one wishes) slots open in the Austin, Texas market. Yes, one of the coolest markets around. Has been for ages but gets more so as time ticks on. KVUE, the ABC affil, who recently saw its GM move to sister station in Atlanta, has now seen their Marketing Director go back to its sister Denver operation, where he began as a writer/producer. ENRICO MEYER is the new Marketing Director at KUSA, the mile high city. He began his TV career as a photojournalist at WDAY in Fargo, North Dakota. He then took his camera skills to the south and worked with WIS in Columbia SC and WSOC in Charlotte. He then landed in the news department of KUSA and migrated to creative services a few years later. News’ loss was creative’s gain, and he worked his way up the ladder there with titles Promotion Manager and Creative Director. OK Enrico…that’s what is known as Well Dunne!
What is going on with NOT announcing new hires of note? I get release about GMs, News Directors, and even on-air talent. Don’t get any for Creative Services and Marketing heads. Why is that? Seriously, why is that? When one contacts corporate PR offices, they are clueless about it. Clueless. They even refuse to get the information or ghost a request. One can only wonder if their news reporters have the same roadblocks thrown up for their stories. Karma?
