It’s tougher to keep up with changes and people nowadays. So every now and then some wonderful creative person gets (and the word is very hurtful and isn’t meant to be) overlooked when they get a promotion or new title. No offense intended. More and more stations are becoming too difficult to contact. Sidebar: why is that? Actually gotten the CIA on the phone easier. Really, the CIA. Talking to someone helps shape the story…helps paint a picture of who they are.
AND while your attention is focused here, let’s ask why in the world would ANY news operation have a line for breaking stories that is answered with “if you see breaking news happen, go to our webpage and fill out the form”. Talk about a double turnoff. If you are the creative in charge, then fix it.
Anyway, that leads us to a lovely creative in one of the most fabulous citites not only in the US but the world: Charleston. KATRINA CALLAHAN has been heading up the creative at Nexstar’s NBC affil WCBD since (writer blushes) May of 2022. Using Covid as an excuse. She was promoted from producer there. Yeah! She honed her TV marketing skills (graphics her jam) after earning her degree from Clemson. She’s worked in marketing WCIV in Charleston , WSPA in Spartanburg and WKRC in Cincinnati. Well Dunne! Katrina.
