DAVID HERSHEY has been in the TV marketing game and has always been a rock star in his work. He also has a unique hobby that makes it even more fun to know him. He’s also a survivor then thriver. No, not only because of career turns, but in real life. A few years ago, his whole house went up in flames. Lost everything. Good news – none of the fam was lost or hurt. He rebounded from that like a superhero kind of guy. Amazingly so. Needless to say, Casa Hershey in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is important to him. And he’ll be staying there in his new job. Attention people who hire…remote creative is not only possible but imperative if you want great talent. I’ll turn it over to him for details: David Hershey has been selected to be the newest Creative Director for NewsNation. Previously, he was the VP of Creative Services for the CBS television stations for nearly 20 years. At NewsNation, David will help lead the creative brand messaging for NewsNation as well as marketing strategies. His experience dates back 35 years when he got his start as a college Freshman at Arkansas State University and KAIT 8 (ABC) in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He eventually became Creative Services Director for KATV (ABC) in Little Rock, WJLA (ABC) in Washington, DC before arriving at CBS in DFW. David also spent time in Los Angeles working for Edge Creative producing network promos for ABC NBC, CBS and others. But if you ask David, his most proud accomplishment includes his mentoring and coaching of creative professionals over the years, many of which have gone on to become promotion managers or creative services directors themselves. David’s new position with NewsNation will be based out of Dallas Fort Worth so he’ll still be able to drive his classic 77 Bandit Trans Am down the Texas highways on the weekends! Well Dunne! David.
