What started as a happy day – two new Senators from Georgia, Merrick Garland the new AG, and gnet agency named Promax Games Agency of the Year – quickly turned to a day we’ll all remember. We watched from home in hopes of not getting Covid-19, huddled in front of our screens. Or perhaps working without hesitation in News, from network to the smallest market. As our attention was in DC, KC’s KSHB Marketing Director AARON LIVERSEDGE lost his father. A very hard, sad day on so many levels. Please remember his family.

Below is what I wrote two years ago. Told it was too upsetting. Now it sounds like a great idea.

EXT – NORTH PORTICO WHITE HOUSE – DAY

We see the guard house and two guards next to the closed gates. A small parade of black SUV’s speed into the picture, crashing through the gates and screeching to a halt under the portico. Out of the first vehicle, 5 UNIFORMED SOLDIERS hussle out and rush into the doors. The SUV’s stay idling while the guards rush up the drive to be met by men in suits and ties who talk with them and take away their guns.

After a very long time, the uniformed soldiers hussle an obese orange-haired old man, DONALD TRUMP, kicking and screaming but clearly no threat to the soldiers, out and into the back of the first SUV, which then speeds away.

The second SUV pulls up and the two back doors open. Out of one emerges GEORGE W BUSH and out of the other, BARAK OBAMA. Without saying anything, they enter the doors.

INT – OVAL OFFICE WHITE HOUSE – FOLLOWING

The doors open and W and Barak enter. Barak grabs the side chair, W the main one behind the Resolute Desk.

VO – On January 7, 2020, after Donald John Trump was dragged from the Oval Office and taken to Walter Reed Hospital for mental evaluation, the two most recently elected presidents, George W Bush and Barak Obama, took over running the government from the Oval Office on an interim basis until January 20. It was a history-making moment.
