Honestly, the lives of creative people are just so much more fascinating than the lives of the average person. No disrespect intended. Or is it that excitement seems to follow creatives more than others? Perhaps it’s the way we can tell the stories behind the events. That could be it. The Native Americans have a saying: Those who tell the stories rule the world. MICHAEL LEACH has a grand story that definitely would qualify him to be a ruler. Mr. L, the CSD-Programing and Promotions guru in Roanoke, Virginia at WDBJ has a new job title. The best one he’ll ever have. Michael is now Dad. His little bundle of joy is a healthy, bouncing baby boy and the kid will have a LOT of learning about promotion in the years to come. Seems he made his grand entrance unheralded and is the surprise of 2022. I won’t take Michael’s story away….but you should definitely reach out to him or friend him on FB to get the exciting details from Papa Leach. Meanwhile, sending all best wishes to Dad, Mom, and an adorable tiny guy. Well Dunne!
Also welcoming a family addition this week is KHOU’s DEILIA WILLIAMS. Another boy. She’s a Glama. Well Dunne!
ROB BOENAU (that’s him in the image) has been a promo guy for quite some time, wrangling the creative for Cleveland’s WOIO for 20 plus years. A marketing mind who has worked at KWCH, WAAY, KQTV and even CNN, he’ll be headed to Tucson to be the GM of KOLD, the CBS affil in one of America’s most unique cities. A city where all the cacti wave hello. He’s a Florida State grad who will no doubt not miss winters, right? As previously stated, it is brilliant to put a marketing pro in the GM chair. Well Dunne! to those who made the choice. Well Dunne! Rob.
Job Alert – The one and only PETE BARRETT (the hardest working man in TV – do not argue) is in need of some talent at WCIA and X49 in the beautiful Midwest market of Champaign, IL. What’s he looking for? A warm body who wants to learn or wants to hone their skills as a reporter/MMJ. In a market where you can afford to buy a house. And only 2 hours away from the bright lights of Chicago.
