Such is the case with the new Brand/Creative Manager at CBS affil KENS. Marketing Director DON SMITH sent word that he promoted MICHAEL VELA to the open slot. Mr. V is a local San Antonian and learned TV by hands-on doing it. Over 17 years, he ran camera and prompter as well as produced news. He def knows the ins and outs. He switched over to marketing and he found his niche. He also knows where to get the best Mexican food for those who are SA bound – have a great vacation. Don, you picked a good one. Well Dunne! Sorry to hear that a former Marketing talent who had been promoted to GM is headed out the door. Still maintain marketing folks make better GM’s than sales folk.
