Lots of creative energy is gathering in Charlotte. A new CSD at NBC there, someone perhaps heading to the FOX CSD slot, etc. Another bright light adding to the glow of the Queen City is ERIN FINNEGAN, now Hearst Media Production Group’s Creative Services and Marketing Director. Charlotte is proud of their food scene and they do have Johnson and Wales and their food program that brought new chefs and restaurants to the city. However, Erin is coming from New Orleans, and Charlotte won’t hold a candle to the cuisine in NOLA. Besides eating in restaurants in The Big Easy, Erin will be leaving her position as Creative Services Director at Hearst’s WDSU, NBC. In addition to WDSU, Erin has done promo magic at WFLD in Chicago, WMOR in Tampa and managed commercial production for Spot Marketing. Lovely to hear of this new job at this new Hearst operation, located just around the corner from my old house in Ballantyne. Small world. But a big Well Dunne! to Erin.
Just as this was being written came word that the wonderful JAY YOVANOVICH got the new title of Director of Marketing and Local Programming at KING in Seattle. Hmmm….I had that as his title in my database so perhaps ESP is kicking in? At any rate, Well Dunne! Jay.

Think About This: “I asked the leaf whether it was frightened because it was autumn and the other leaves were falling. The leaf told me, “No. During the whole spring and summer I was completely alive. I worked hard to help nourish the tree, and now much of me is in the tree. I am not limited by this form. I am also the whole tree, and when I go back to the soil, I will continue to nourish the tree. So I don’t worry at all. As I leave this branch and float to the ground, I will wave to the tree and tell her, ‘I will see you again very soon’.”
That day there was a wind blowing and, after a while, I saw the leaf leave the branch and float down to the soil, dancing joyfully, because as it floated it saw itself already there in the tree. It was so happy. I bowed my head, knowing that I have a lot to learn from the leaf.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
