TV is losing yet another very talented creative. Seems to be an alarming trend. LAURIE LAMASTER is heading home to Scranton and shutting the door on her CSD office at KMTV in Omaha. The Scripps CBS has been her slot for nearly seven years. Laurie was VP of Marketing and Promotion at WNEP in Scranton before Omaha, where she was once CSD at the NBC affil. She’s actyally getting out of the TV world entirely. Let her explain: “I return to Scranton in October. I’ll be working at the Wright Center for Patient and Community Engagement! This non-profit, in conjunction with the Wright Center, focuses on improving access to healthcare while addressing the issues that negatively affect the health of our community, including food insecurity, homelessness, poverty, and access to education. As we know, there’s so much that’s not covered by health insurance and part of my mission will be to secure and raise funding for programs that address these critical things. I’m so honored and humbled to be a part of this effort.” Yes, she’s got the best heart, intentions and talent. Did you know she’s a fabulous painter? One day, her work will hang on a wall of mine…yes Laurie? Yes. As much as it hurts to lose you, you get a huge Well Dunne! Laurie.
Remember earlier when I said Cory Bayle was leaving Lubbock for a job with Newsy? Well, he’s actually leaving Amarillo, which is north of Lubbock. My apologies. Amarillo is the home of the Cadillac Ranch art installation and Lubbock is home to my cousin Pat. You can understand the confusion.

Think About This: “An entire sea of water can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, the negativity of the world can’t put you down unless you allow it to get inside you.” ~ Unknown
Thank you so much for the wonderful sendoff! I’ve had a wild ride in broadcasting, but I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s bittersweet to leave this career that’s been so good to me, but I’m looking forward to the next chapter. Best of luck to you and to all the amazing, talented professionals I’ve been blessed to know along the way!
