Unless you are in the minority of people who enjoy packing and moving, then you’ll understand why hearing about someone who gets a new job in their town is a very good thing (thanks to Martha Stewart for that phrase). In most industries, staying in town is the norm. Not so much in TV. So it was lovely hearing that JASON RUEL is one of the lucky ones. He’s staying in the Norfolk market, which is hard on the Atlantic and full of history. Jason joins WVEC under Marketing Director MICHEL PELLETIER with the title Creative Manager. And indeed he is. Saw his work a bit ago and knew he was on the rise. Jason got a degree from Eastern Connecticut State U and his first TV job was at Springfield, Ma’s WWLP where he was Sr. Promo Producer. He’s edited, shot and written for stations WPRI in Providence and has been producing promos at Norfolk’s WAVY until he started at WVEC. And that first day is Monday the 20th. Perhaps the day you are reading this. Well Dunne! Jason!
ROB THOMAS, who’s corralling the creative for KSWO / KAUZ in Lawton, Oklahoma slash Wichita Falls market, is looking for a Marketing Manager, so if that’s what’s on your radar, know he’s a great guy who you would be lucky to have as your boss. He’s also an amazing nature photographer. Bonus.
