In today’s world, it takes a lot to be truly surprising. Shocking even. When SHELLY SMITH LESLIE announced she is leaving WRAL, it was definitely what one would consider surprising and shocking. Shelly has been on a career path many would have loved but few were offered. She began at the Capital Cities station in Raleigh at the tender age of 19 and has worked many positions there, but never left, having spent 35 years with them. From Sports Intern to Director of Audience Development, Shelly has basically done it all. In recent years, having stepped away from the Creative Services office, she was Executive Producer for a program called Moment of Truth about the murder of Michael Jordan’s father. You can watch it on Amazon Freevee. She’s an active bicyclist who has raised money for cancer victims, including my brother Dennis, which earned her a place in my family’s heart. A woman of many, many talents, her departure is going to leave a big hole in the patina of what many consider one of the, if not THE, best TV operation in the country. Saying Well Dunne! Shelly seems rather anti-climactic.
On a happier note, the effervescent NASREEN SARA VISOMIRSKI is going home to Miami in the new role of VP Creative Services and Community Relations at NBC’s WTVJ aka NBC6 and Telemundo WSCV. She’s departing her VP slot at CBS’ KYW in lovely Philly. She’s had some fun slots starting at Post-Newsweek in Miami and has worked in varying executive positions in Kansas City, Palm Beach, Pittsburgh, and Dallas. South Florida is going to be a happier place once she and her fam unpack. Excellent news! Well Dunne! Ms. V!

After a lot of thought and aggravation, gotta move this blog from the wretched, disgusting Bluehost. All advice is greatly appreciated for an alternative service. And for those who reached out, all efforts will be made to keep the email availability.
