This time of year is full of such happy events – anniversaries, weddings, births, graduations and, of course, this year the Queens Jubilee. It also marks an incredible milestone for not one but two men in the TV business who are the best.
Marking 50 years in the business are WFAA’s JERRY CADIGAN and now-retired NBC marketing whiz JOHN MILLER. Jerry took a slot at legendary WFAA TV in Dallas right after he earned a diploma from SMU, where he was the smartest production person in any of the TV classes. Jerry stayed at the station for 50 years. His never-flappable demeanor has made him the go-to pro and the ideal Production Manager at the ABC affil. John Douglas Miller spent 43 years at NBC – 50 in the broadcast world. His last day was June 3 and his last official title at the Peacock Net was NBC Olympics Chief Marketing Officer. Both these men are gentlemen, quiet leaders, humble, fun, thoughtful, and the business is the better for having them participate. Let’s celebrate them and send them the most heartfelt Well Dunne! we can muster.
