Are you as exhausted, sad, angry, frustrated and SO in need of some time away from news as this writer is? Just today, every single story (every. one.) would have been the #1 but there are like 8 happening all at once. Thank heavens we might get some time away over the long weekend. Maybe.
Wrote that above paragraph on Friday morning. And over the holiday, the recurring theme being shared by TV people and civilians alike was “I just don’t watch news anymore…I can’t.” Which leads to today’s Think About This, which is this whole post.
How are you addressing the problem of intelligent, curious and loyal viewers who have either burnt out or are turning away? How are you addressing the issue of Trust? How are you addressing the issue of happenings that have somehow become divisive instead of informative? Is there any point at which a TV station should or can take a stand for an issue?
Hoping you had the chance to wring the last bit of summer from your 3 day weekend. Floating in a pool and listening to Hawaiian music was the choice made here. The white sangria was the icing on the cake.
