Now WJLA in DC (ABC – Allbritton) is going to do a 4 part breast cancer series with, wait for it, real breasts on screen. I’m sure JLA will provide a REAL story and not a stunt story. Why are people still upset about body parts on screen?

He’s going out on his own to freelance, focusing on editing and live technical directing for such clients as Big Ten Network and Fox Sports Wisconsin. Today is the first day on a new job for BILL MUSHRUSH. He’s the new CSD at CBS affil KKTV in gorgeous Colorado Springs. Bill’s moving west from his former slot at ABC affil WLNE in Providence. Yeah, Colorado Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak wins that contest, imo. Many of you remember Bill from his time at NBC Net out of NYC and TechTV out of San Francisco. Congrats Bill! Well Dunne!

1) Nobody cares about your product. Really…they don’t. Don’t get offended, just make them care. That’s what’s marketing is for
2) Don’t sell your product, sell an emotion. Make an emotional connection with your customer, then empower them. This establishes trust and creates an emotional bond between you and your customer.
3) Back up your message with fact… not lies. Don’t hype what’s false. Spotlight what’s true
4) Keep your message simple, concise, and easy to follow. Don’t waste your customer’s time. Don’t be clever, don’t be cryptic, and nobody will be impressed with your puns, so leave them out!
5) ONLY HAVE ONE MESSAGE! If you try to cram several selling points into your marketing message, then people will just be confused or uninterested. Multiple thoughts just clutter your message, and then your message is lost. Which defeats the whole purpose of why you’re marketing to begin with.
And it’s really that simple. But sadly, most people don’t follow any of these rules because everybody thinks they know better. And that’s why they fail.
