Iowa – the heart of America; home state for one of my favorites (WLS’ CURTIS MILES) as well as today’s creative DARRIN FULLERTON, who is returning to Iowa in his new job. Darrin takes up the creative mantel at Sinclair’s CBS affil, KGAN in Cedar Rapids. The Morningside College grad will be making the switch from LIN’s Wichita operation, which is NBC in that part of Kansas. If you’re into calls, they include KSNW, KSNC, KSNK, KSNL, and ESNW. Whew. Just keeping up with that list is a fulltime job. An accomplished graphic designer, he’s worked at KMEG in Sioux City as Promotions Director, worked at a radio station as Continuity Director and began his TV career at KTIV in Sioux City. Love a man who mixes radio and TV. In Cedar Rapids, he’ll be closer to family, which is the #1 reason so many of us pack up and grab a new opportunity. All the best and Well Dunne! Darrin.

CYNTHIA TURNER, the famous Cynopsis founder and all-round great creative, has a new calling. She’s entered the non-profit world, and that means it will never be the same. Cynthia is the new Chairman of Norwalk-CT based Halles Hope, Inc. Click on the name and read all about it. Halle’s Hope is dedicated to building hope and possibilities for children and was created in memory of her granddaughter. What? You say you want to contribute? YES YOU DO! It’s all about helping, and Cynthia will no doubt make the world so much better. Well Dunne!

Yeah, last week was definitely one that will be remembered. And, if you are KIMBERLY HARTMAN, the memorability will have nothing to do with an earthquake or hurricane. Springfield, IL based Kimberly got promoted AND she got engaged. Wow. Her new title is Promotion Manager of WICS, Sinclair’s ABC affil in the Land of Lincoln’s capital. She’s been onboard at the station and loving promotion, so this kick up the ladder is very exciting. TIM MCSPADDEN is the man she credits for really getting her in the promo groove. Tim, now CDS at KPHO in Phoenix, was at WICS doing creative consulting when he and Kimberly worked together. As for her fiancée, he’s a musician who promises to make beautiful music with the lovely Ms. Hartman. Well Dunne! everybody.

Job Alert – Promo Preditor is needed at KSN in Wichita. Work for the talented DARRIN FULLERTON, Dir of Marketing. He’s the one to impress.

It’s official. DARRIN FULLERTON is no longer the Interim Director of Marketing at KSNW in Wichita, Kansas. He’s now the official and total Director of Marketing there. The station goes by KSN…the W has disappeared, too. The promotion comes after five years at the NBC affiliate. He worked with GREGG COX, who is one of the good guys as well. Greg is know in KC. Darrin’s family doesn’t have to pack, and since he likes to run on his treadmill, that’s all a good thing – treadmills are a bear to move. Before coming to Wichita, Darrin was at KMEG in Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. Fullerton is an Iowan by birth (in Des Moines), but he thinks of Sioux City as home. Darrin gets to work with one of the best anchors around…JOHN SNYDER. Everybody winsQ A  hearty Well Dunne! Darrin.
