Non-TV people call promos trailers. So it makes perfect sense that DAVID TRAYLOR would be doing TV promos (and more). He’s the new animator and art person and editor at Scripps’ KGTV in gorgeous San Diego. Being beach adjacent will be a switch for him – he’s been in the Denver market, where he most recently was Motion Graphics Designer for AXS TV, Mark Cuban’s cable channel. He’s done some great creative for Altitude Sports and Entertainment (think Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, etc), and has been Motion Graphics for KDVR/KWGN Denver. He studied at the Art Institute of Colorado so he’s going to bring his A Game to sea level. Well Dunne! David.
All those good thoughts you sent to JIM WINDSOR paid off. He’s in ICU but all went well with his surgery. Actually, it went better than anyone expected. Get Well, Jim.

As the first candle was lit on menorahs across the world last evening, it marks the perfect time for all of us to take a moment to think about miracles. They come in all sizes and forms, sometimes coming around as expected and sometimes quite the opposite. But they do happen. You have to keep your heart open and expect them. So no matter what challenges are clouding your life, the lighted candle should remind you that all will be well.
Former promo pro TODD BALLANTYNE, who left the TV biz after heading up creative at KYW in Philly as well as Comcast’s CN8 and Promo Manager at NBC’s WCAU in the City of Brotherly Love, experienced a miracle this weekend. He debuted a new creation in the aforementioned Philadelphia – Papa Todd has a baby daughter! Do we need to say the Ballantyne family couldn’t be happier? Well Dunne!
On the opposite side of the country, out Sacramento way, FOX 50 (calls KTXL) On-Air Promo Manager NATE DARLING is off the market and engaged. The holidays always bring a rash of engagements.

Wow..that’s impressive. Before that she was at PHD’s New York office working on such accounts as TLC, HBO and BBC America. Well Dunne! Jen.
Is it just me, or does anyone else see the irony of drastically cutting station/network/cable outside adverting budgets in a world where selling outside advertising is what pays the bills….?

Is it me or does it seem like an odd idea to play the muy expensive SuperBowl spots before the SuperBowl? Just thinking out loud….

This from one of my faves – MIKE MONSELL, who wrangles the Creatives at ABC’s WPVI in Philly: “With great pleasure, the Creative Services Department welcomes EVAN CUTTIC to the position of writer / producer. For the past year, Evan has been doing the news, working as an Action News producer. But now his talents and effort will go to promoting the news! Evan has actually been with the 6abc family since the summer of 2008, first as a CS intern, followed by a three month stint as a temporary associate producer. A 2008 graduate of Penn State University, Evan was an honor student and production entertainment captain of the PSU Dance Marathon (THON). Please join me in congratulating Evan, and welcome him to his new role with 6abc.” So everybody, let’s hear it…Well Dunne! Evan. And thanks Mike.
Remember yesterday when we shared the good news about JIM WINDSOR’s new gig at WMAQ in Chicago/ Well, that part is totally correct. He’s digging Chi-Town and I bet they are digging him, too. However, he has never worked in Little Rock. I made a mistake. No word on whether he has even visited Little Rock. OK, carry on.
