Anyway, MIKE CUNNINGHAM has been doing creative work outside the ‘real TV’ category and now, he’s the producer for Local Memphis Live at Nexstar’s  WATN in Memphis. He’s been Promotion Director in Des Moines at KCWI where he produced Great Day Morning Show. He’s a Purdue grad who’s headed up creative at KTUL in Tulsa, KGAN in Cedar Rapids and KCCI. A writer is a writer because, even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway.”  ~  Junot Diaz (winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, 2008)

When someone passes away, the simplest memories come to the front…popping into your consciousness unexpectedly, bringing both comfort and the empty feeling of loss. BUD BROWN has passed away. Bud, who left us this morning, was a Promo Pro who had taken a career path that led him to managing TV stations. He was in Abilene, TX as GM of KTXS, the ABC/CW outlet owned by Bonton Media. CSD DAVID CALDWELL said he had not been feeling well on Monday and finally went to the ER, where things did not improve. The staff is in shock, as are the many people who knew him. His full name is Albert Brown…and he did promo in Amarillo, Tulsa and other markets before landing at then-Belo’s WWL in New Orleans. He helmed this, his first station in The Big Easy, before heading to Abilene. Bud lovingly cared for his first wife for many years before she passed away. He leaves behind his second wife and young son Winston. KTXS posted this on their website. All our thoughts of comfort and strength go out to all who knew him.
