And in this corner…northwest major market…hailing from Roseburg, Oregan and on her way up the ladder is – ding ding ding – NANCY MacDONALD. Could you picture the referee and feel the boxing concept there? Read it again and see if you do. OK, good. Nancy is the recently promoted News Brand Manager at currently-Tribune’s FOX affil Q13 in Seattle. She had been Creative Services Coordinator but got the bump in the last few weeks. Yeah, during the February book, so that means she was swimming in deep water off the bat. She confides that she doesn’t own a dog or cat, but has a Godzilla action figure on her desk. Alright alright alright! Did we mention she works with the amazing SYD RUBIN who wrangles News promotion there at KCPQ? Well Dunne! Nancy.

The sandy beaches of the Tampa Bay area seems to have won out over the breathtaking mountain scenes of Salt Lake City. At least that’s the case for DENNIS ELSBURY. He once was part of the WFTS TV creative team – that’s Scripps’ ABC affil – handling news promotion. Then he headed west to be Director of Marketing and Promotion at Newport’s three station operation WTVX (ABC), KUCW (CW) and independent The Hive TV. Dennis holds a Mass Comm/Journalism degree from Iowa State and has worked at WSBT in South Bend as well as WFTV/WRDQ in Orlando. Mr. E has also been a Communications and Marketing Specialist for the state of Utah. Well Dunne! Dennis. He’ll be on the job mid-September.

Promotion time for Speed Channel’s NANCY MACDONALD, who has added Vice President to her Marketing and Promotions title. The Syracuse grad has been working her way up the ladder at Speed, first as Marketing Manager, then Director of Marketing and Promotions now adding the VP to it. Very Well Dunne! Nancy.  Speed is, of course, based in Charlotte.
