One such person about to get to do exactly that…return to where he produced promos to now lead is SPENCER ERNST. Yes, he’s a favorite. Spencer is heading down I-44 to Springfield, MO to take the Marketing Director slot at KYTV-3, the NBC affil owned by Gray or Schurz or both (FCC paperwork being the determining factor). Spencer has been under the Arch in St. Louis at KMOV where he handled digital content producing. Actually, he was a repeat man at the CBS affil there as well, having done a stint as a broadcast assistant there early on in his career. The diploma he has is from the prestigious Univ of Missouri Journalism school. Yes, he was once a reporter in Columbia. Have a blast, Spencer and Well Dunne!

‘There’s no place like home for the holidays.’ When you sing this lovely song this year, think of SPENCER ERNST, who is home for the holidays and he’ll be sticking around because he has a job in his hometown. The hometown in question is one shared…St. Louis. Gateway to the West and city of the best baseball team in the world (refrain from contacting me about this truth, please – minds will not be changed) Spencer Ernst is the new Digital Content Producer at Meredith’s CBS affil, KMOV. Yes, the same KMOV where the office window views are the Mississippi, the Gateway Arch, the Old Cathedral and the eastern US horizon. Best in the continental US. (again, save the feedback…) Spencer has been down I-44 in Springfield at KYTV for the past several years, doing wonderful promo work and enjoying the Ozarks. But the job at KMOV is a homecoming, since he was once there managing kmov.com and doing all the social work as Broadcast Assistant. He’s a Mizzou grad and a grad of Lindbergh High as well. One of the most tell tale signs of a St. Louis upbringing is the need to ask what high school other St. Louisans went to. No reason for this, but it is a definite tell. So when CSD DAN MCGRANE let me know he was hiring a St. Louis man for the creative services writer producer at KYTV (known as KY3) down Highway 40 in Springfield, the ‘what high school’ gene popped up. So, let’s hear it for SPENCER ERNST, a graduate of Lindburgh High. Sure, sure…he has done much more than grab a sheepskin during his time as a Flyer. He produced his own entertainment news show, which landed him to NSPA Pacemaker Finalist awards. The next thing, he’s in Mizzou’s famous J-school. He’s been at Belo’s KMOV in St. Louis learning the biz and cheering on the Cardinals. Spencer’s going to be a major asset to Dan’s creative gang. Well Dunne! Spencer.

You must also be able to turn news promos that are compelling and relevant to viewers in a deadline-driven, high pressure environment and assist in developing and executing long term marketing and community engagement strategies in a highly competitive market. Position also will be responsible for scheduling daily promos and managing promotional inventory and coordinating and managing station events and strategic partnerships.
