This is a particularly happy post. Happy for GABRIEL LUNA (aka Gabe) who is going to get his first CSD slot. Gabe is a doll…a wonderful family man as well as a very talented promo pro. He’s headed to Tulsa to be CSD for Scripps’ NBC affil KJRH. Starts on or about July 2, which means he has to juggle PROMAX, moving, 4th of July holidays – ouch. You get the idea. He’ll be good with it all. He’s been Promotion Manager for Scripps KGUN in historic Tucson. Gabe’s a San Antonian (GREAT town!) who wrote and produced promos as well as did graphics for WOAI. He then went out to Seattle’s KIRO to hone his craft. Very excited that he’s been given the chance (well deserved) to CSD. OK, 1 – 2 – 3…Well Dunne! Gabe!

No less than two rather iconic musicians have recorded Tulsa Time. Country side Don Williams recorded it in 1978 then the one and only Eric Clapton included it on an album that same year. Tulsa, which actually is in the Central Time zone, is where TIM BOKNECHT is now calling home. Tim is the new Creative Services Director at Cox’s KOKI, Fox in Tulsa Town. He’s coming down from Wichita, where he was Marketing and Creative Services Director for Gray’s KAKE, ABC. He’s a Kansas State (bonus points if you know Willie the Wildcat) and Wichita State grad who loves music…he studied it as well as made a living as a Singer and Guitarist. He owned his own prodco as well. First TV job was in promo producing for KSNW in the aforementioned Wichita. He’ll be a lot closer to Dallas now – Tulsa was once considered Little D (Dallas being Big D). Well Dunne! Tim.

Please remember KTVT’s DAVID HERSHEY, who lost his father on Monday night.
