TROY MCDONALD JR is the new member of CSD PAUL CHAPLIN’s creative crew at CBS affil WLKY in Louisville. Post Derby, L’ville is a great little city and Troy’s making the switch from Tribune’s CBS affil WTKR oceanside in the Norfolk, Virginia market. Well, not exactly Oceanside, but close to the bay and really downtown, but hey… Troy’s background started on the college radio station where he was on-air and did it all. First job in TV was running camera at WLJT in Martin, TN where he went to college. He was a Graphic Designer for Raycom in Memphis at WMC as well. Paul is thrilled to have him contributing as a writer producer for the Hearst station. Well Dunne! Troy.

OK, metaphorically close your eyes and picture a guy in love with radio and football. No, it’s not  Bobby Costas. This metaphorical person went on to TV marketing after he played Fullback for two teams – the Pittsburgh Power Football  team and the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Professional Indoor Football. VERY impressive. He transitioned to TV as the Creative Services Director and Promotion Manager for WVVA, the Quincy Media NBC station for Bluefield, West Virginia. He decided to leave the mountains behind and went to work with SHERRY CARPETER at Graham Media’s WJXT in Jacksonville, where the beaches are pretty sweet. Now, he’s combining mountains (kinda) and water (think Ohio River) in his new job in Louisville. We’re talking about BRANDON LINK, newly named Assistant Creative Services Director at Hearst’s CBS station in the Kentucky Derby town. All together now…on three…hup, two, Well Dunne! Brandon.

As we head into the last month of 2015 (a year which seems to have begun just yesterday) it’s time to send a Well Dunne! to NATHAN WHITE, newly promoted to Assistant Creative Services Director at Hearst’s WLKY in Louisville. Nathan’s a Virginian by birth and has been calling L’ville home since 2006 when he began at the CBS affil in Derby Town as a news photog. Along the line, he went over to marketing and promo and honed the writing and producing chops. He already knew how to shoot – bonus! A fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals, there is hope that one day he might follow the St. Louis Cards as well. The Asbury College grad also worked at WBKQ in Bowling Green KY as well. Another round of Well Dunne! for Nathan.

Kickin’ the week off with a new job is PAUL CHAPLIN, who has, actually, returned to Louisville. He’d been in Derby Town before as Assistant Creative Services Director at WLKY…that was back in 2012 for a few years. He then hit Florida’s WESH as ACSD and now, he’s a Kentucky resident again and CSD at WLKY. But wait, he really knows the way between Lville and Otown…he worked at WESH once before as a writer producer. The University of Wisconsin Green Bay grad also worked in that city at the FOX affil. He and the lovely wife have had a whirlwind week – here’s to an easy transition and an excellent run. Well Dunne! Paul.

Late Friday, ABC had an exciting announcement that should get a lot of attention and kudos. WENDY MCMAHON was named Senior VP of Digital Media for the ABC Owned TV Station Group, which is quaintly now dubbed ABC OTV.  She’s been VP of Creative and Programming at LA’s KABC, where viewers made their Facebook and Twitter pages the most followed of any TV station in the country. Wendy journey began in Louisiana and took her to creative slots at WCCO Minneapolis, WBZ Boston, KXAN in Austin, WJXT in Jacksonville and WTOC in Savannah. She’s an LSU Tiger go let’s say, besides Well Dunne!, Geaux Wendy!
