One of my favorite News Directors (and you know how rare those are) is JOHN KIRBY who wrangles the newsroom at KREX in Grand Junction, Colorado.  When his Creative Services Director left to go manage an art gallery (the perfect job) the CBS affil found a great replacement right on their doorstep, so to speak. Enter the new Promotions Manager KIRSTEN EPPLER, a bright and talented Grand Junction native. Sidebar…what does one call a resident of Grand Junction? Will pass along the answer. Back to Kirsten. She has a degree in Mass Communication in Media Strategies and Applications from Colorado Mesa U before getting her first TV job as a TD for KKCO, the NBC affil in GC. After creatively producing for them, she got recruited by KREX and is going to fill her days with new projects. A happy lady whose voice sparkles, she has many creative pursuits and is happy to be around family (parents and sister’s) as well as her newest hobby – beekeeping. I find her talent of playing the ukulele quite interesting. Her hubby and little dog are part of her daily routine, and it sounds like a good one. Well Dunne! Kirsten!
