June 12, 2023

Like everything today, things are happening at a pace that defies fast. And so on this Monday, we’ve got a lot to share to make up for the paltry number of posts from last week.

First off, starting off in former city Charlotte, NC is word that KELLEN DARGLE is going to fill the Creative Services Director office at the WJZY, Fox in the Queen City. And Kellen knows all about the market and how to drive from Point A to Point B (which is not as easy as it sounds – Charlotte is laid out like a spider web and the expression is that you only become a Charlottean (how doe one spell that anyway?) when you can drive from Point A to Point B)…Kellen was Director of Marketing at CBS affil WBTV in that exact same market. Mr. D is a graphics-oriented pro who has headed up TV creative in Lexington, KY (gorgeous city) and Charlottesville, VA after starting as a promo producer in Wyoming. Well Dunne! Kellen.

Going to work for the best duo in TV, namely GM CURTIS MILES and his CSD JIM MARKETTI is the lovely ERIN LIU. A lucky lady indeed. She’s heading to Kansas City’s KCTV, the CBS affil, from KCCI in Des Moines where she’s been Assistant Creative Services Director. Iowa is where Curtis grew up and his mom and brothers and all still live there. Erin has another ‘connection’ to Mr. Miles in that she worked in Wausau, Wisconsin. At WSAW. Curtis had his first GM chair in Wausau but at another station. See kids – all these connections are important. Another amazing aspect to Erin’s background is her time at Harvard. Yes, THAT Harvard. Ask her about it. A videographer at her heart, she’s going to be a real plus to this growing KCTV operation. Well Dunne! Erin.

Job Alert – Social Media Producer (REMOTE) Court TV

Job Alert – Graphic Designer KIRO Seattle

So sad to hear about the downsizing at the CBS TV group stations. Lots of good graphics people are available for those of you who are in the market. Remember that graphics is an ideal choice for remote work.
