Not one but two talented, fun creative leaders are saying Adieu to TV marketing and taking their talents to companies that will be the better for it. KAREN YARBROUGH, the crazy lady (and that is the best identifier ever…she deserves it) is signing off on a 34 year career in TV to take the Digital Director slot for a west Texas auto dealer group. She’s been handling promotions and all assorted ways to describe the “watch me watch me” arm of KTAB and KRBC in Abilene. Karen makes things fun and that’s rare today, in a way.

Over to the west in fire-ravaged Cali, DREW FOWLER is going to rebrand and get Vitalent some much-deserved attention. Instead of pushing programs he’ll be informing people about blood. In a very good way.  A non-profit way. At any rate, Sacramento TV has lost a bright light. He headed up marketing for KXTV and KOVR there, along with other slots. Well Dunne! to both Karen and Drew.

Job Alert – Director of Marketing and Community Relations WXOW/WQOW LaCrosse

Talking with someone at KRONon in the Bay Area and heard the following before a quick hang up: “Oh no…I gotta go. My bridge is on fire.”
