Hello…it’s been a long time. After a false start back…well, I don’t know how long ago. Days and months are pretty fluid. The Mac tells me what day, month, and time it is or details would be lost in space.  But it’s summer. Fresh tomatoes and fresh corn lunches. Iced tea by the gallon. Reading in the shade of the backyard patio. It’s all back, as is the sense of humor and the energy zapped away by a run-in with what had to have been ‘the virus’.

Let’s start by deviating from the norm a little, and shine the spotlight on a wonderful man who just celebrated 47 years at the same station.  A station made all the better for his presence there each and every day. We usually talk about people in new jobs, but things are different now, and let’s give this one to JERRY CADIGAN, the Production Ops Manager at WFAA. Jerry has always been the Go-To guy for getting anything done, beginning when he first set foot into the TV studio at SMU in Dallas. Jerry knew everything…from equipment to directing and he knew which buttons to push before computers were ubiquitous. He could wrestle a vidicon camera and its pedestal as easy as a WWE star could slam an opponent to the floor. His effortless knowledge saw him oversee all the technological changes that the biz has seen over the years.  He is a quiet man who doesn’t like a lot of fussing over him, but know he is THE guy you want for any project. He is so very lucky to have found a station, an evolving management team and co-workers who all agree he’s a major asset and not a line item. He is someone that has always garnered respect and even awe at his abilities and talents. Today, we all need to give Jerry a big Well Dunne!

Think About This: “How would your life be different if…You stopped making negative judgmental assumptions about people you encounter? Let today be the day…You look for the good in everyone you meet and respect their journey.”  ~  Steve Maraboli
